What does it mean to be a DOT Approved Cylinder Requalification Facility?
It means that Fire Safety Supply has a company level registration based on the standard 49 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) 107.805 – “Approval of cylinder and pressure receptacle requalifiers”. This standard consists of government-regulated requirements for approval of a domestic or foreign facility to inspect test, certify, repair, or rebuild a gas cylinder (a pressure vessel used to store gases at above atmospheric pressure). Various levels of testing are required by the Department of Transportation to ensure quality and safety of the vessel.
