Cleanguard+ Fire Extinguishers
Extinguish the fire, not your business!
Why Cleanguard+ is preferred
- Environmentally responsible – FK-5-1-12 agent has zero ODP and a GWP of about 0.01 with an atmospheric lifetime of roughly one week. It is compliant with the AIM Act transition away from HFCs and is not scheduled for phase-out under the Montreal Protocol as of 2023.
- Residue-free and corrosion-resistant – No powder cleanup and no collateral damage to sensitive electronics or plastics; ideal where uptime matters.
- Safer for people and spaces – FK-5-1-12 has substantially lower acute cardiotoxicity exposure limits than Halotron 1, allowing safe discharge in considerably smaller spaces.
- Proven hardware, modern agent – Uses the same durable platform as legacy Cleanguard with updated FK-5-1-12 agent; legacy SKUs are replaced by CA03, CA07, CA13, and CA14-NM.
- Compliance and listings – UL/ULC listed, NFPA 10 compliant; selected models carry USCG marine approvals.
Where Cleanguard+ excels
Designed for light and ordinary hazards where equipment, data, and finishes must remain unharmed:
- Computer rooms, essential communications, data and document storage, laboratories
- Healthcare, clean manufacturing, museums, archives, and libraries
- Magnetic-resonance suites: CA14-NM unit is MR Conditional to 7.0 Tesla for MRI areas
Cleanguard+ versus common competitors
| Criteria | Cleanguard+ (FK-5-1-12) | Typical Halocarbon Competing Agents |
|---|---|---|
| Residue / Cleanup | Leaves no residue; no cleanup; protects finishes and electronics | May leave residue or cause corrosion risk on sensitive gear |
| People Safety | Lower acute cardiotoxicity exposure; can be used in smaller spaces | Higher exposure limits; larger safe-use volumes required |
| Environmental Profile | ODP 0; GWP ~0.01; ~1-week atmospheric life; AIM-Act compliant | Higher GWP and longer atmospheric life; HFCs are being phased down |
| Operational Continuity | No evacuation for cleanup; minimizes downtime | Potential cleanup and downtime after discharge |
