About Amerex
Amerex Corporation® is a leading American manufacturer of high-performance fire suppression products, headquartered in Trussville, Alabama. The company produces a wide range of hand portable and wheeled fire extinguishers designed for commercial and industrial use, as well as advanced fire and explosion suppression systems for military and defense vehicles.
Amerex’s innovation has driven the development of specialized systems including automatic restaurant fire suppression, vehicle fire suppression, gas detection, industrial protection systems, and fire detection devices. The company became a part of McWane, Inc. in 1999.
Founded in 1971 by Ned Paine and George Baureis, Amerex quickly established a reputation for reliability and performance. Paine remained involved until his retirement in September 1999. In 2010, Amerex became a key military subcontractor by developing a fire suppression system for U.S. military vehicles—technology still in use today to protect personnel from fires caused by mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in active combat zones.
Amerex partners with the Oshkosh Corporation, a major military vehicle manufacturer, to integrate fire suppression systems that deploy optical sensors for instant fire detection. These systems activate jets and hoses to discharge a concealed extinguishing agent, offering rapid and effective response to onboard threats.
In 2011, Amerex expanded its global reach by acquiring The Solberg Company, a firefighting equipment manufacturer based in Bergen, Norway. According to Amerex President Bill Beyer, fire extinguisher demand typically follows economic growth and construction trends. Today, Amerex manufactures approximately 2.5 million commercial and industrial fire extinguishers annually.
Solberg RE-HEALING™ Foam Concentrate
SOLBERG RE-HEALING™ foam concentrates offer a sustainable, high-performance solution for extinguishing Class B fuel fires. These fluorosurfactant- and fluoropolymer-free foams are environmentally responsible, with no concerns for persistence, bioaccumulation, or toxic breakdown products.
RE-HEALING foam concentrates perform effectively in fresh, salt, or brackish water and provide excellent burn-back resistance due to their superior flow and rapid sealing action. They are designed to replace traditional AFFF, AR-AFFF, and older fluoroprotein foam concentrates using advanced synthetic foam technology.
Available in 3%, 6%, and 3x6 ATC formulations, RE-HEALING foam concentrates are engineered for use on Class B hydrocarbon and polar solvent fires. They also help prevent re-ignition, suppress hazardous vapors, and enhance extinguishment of deep-seated fires.
Since 1999, Fire Safety Supply has been the go-to for fire suppression products, industrial dry chemical systems, high and low-pressure CO2, vehicles, and clean agents. We serve various types of industries such as restaurants, commercial kitchen, wineries, and more.
